Safety & Privacy
Respecting your identity and protecting your personal data is at the heart of our commitment. Resonantes applies strict rules and the best practices in online safety and data protection.
No personal information is asked of you
App-Elles does not ask for any sensitive personal information
We don't need to know your name, age, address, gender, profession, etc. To create an account, App-Elles only needs two pieces of information:
- An email address
- A login password
To verify that you are indeed the owner of the email address you provided, a confirmation link is sent to that address. Without your confirmation, you will not be able to connect to other users or download the recordings of your alerts.
Tip: Use a personal email address or create a new one whose existence and login credentials only you know. This address will be used to confirm your account, reset your password and receive archives of your triggered alerts.

No identity is revealed
App-Elles protects your identity and that of your personal network, and does not use any number from your personal phone book
No malicious third party can identify your account or that of one of your contacts. So that your trusted contacts can recognise you in their app, App-Elles lets you create and change at any time:
- Your username (nickname)
- Your profile picture (avatar)
You are invited to choose a nickname and profile picture that only your trusted contacts can identify and recognise in their app. Sharing your GPS location and microphone is only possible once you have triggered an alert and have previously granted these permissions to the app (these permissions can be granted and revoked at any time).
Tip: Only share these with each other. Do not use a name or photo that you already use on social networks or other online spaces.

No stranger can contact you or receive your alerts
App-Elles only alerts the trusted contacts you have chosen and only lists support services recognised by local authorities
No predator or fake helper can contact or reach you. App-Elles only connects you with people you have chosen, who know you and whom you trust: alerting strangers or a pseudo "community" of unidentified users to come to the aid of a victim or a person in distress is a real danger (over-aggression, insults, trolls, victim blaming, etc.) and cannot be considered under any circumstances. The professional contacts listed come from official sources and have been trained to assist you. Only trained professionals can help and support you effectively.
Tip: Take the time to discuss it with your contacts before inviting them to protect you or accepting to protect them. App-Elles is a tool to bring you closer together and provide mutual assistance.

Your data is secure
App-Elles shares your data only when you need it and saves your account settings and alert data on servers using encrypted communications
Your GPS location and microphone sharing are only activated the moment you trigger an alert and end when you stop it. You can retrieve your configurations and backups from any phone. You can log out and log back in on another phone at any time.
- Your account settings and alert data are continuously backed up on our servers.
- You want to report evidence of violence, but your phone is broken or has been stolen. Log in directly from the phone of the person you are speaking with to retrieve all your account data.
Your alert data is kept for 15 days on our servers before being completely destroyed. You can download these recordings to keep them longer and/or share them as evidence.
