How it works

App-Elles is an app designed to protect, help and inform people affected by violence, along with their loved ones and witnesses. It centralises the essentials: emergency numbers, specialised organisations and local support centres, accessible in seconds in more than fifteen countries.

Thanks to innovative technology, App-Elles also lets you trigger an immediate alert when in danger. Location and surrounding audio are streamed in real time to the trusted contacts chosen by the user, so they can react quickly and appropriately.

In addition to this concrete support, the app provides practical advice and reliable information to help you understand the different forms of violence — gender-based, sexual, domestic or digital — and how to react when you witness them.

App-Elles is at once a protection tool, a gateway to professional help and a lever for awareness. It helps you react quickly, find trustworthy support and strengthen solidarity in the face of violence.

Alert your contacts in real time

You trigger an SOS:
  • Your trusted contacts are instantly alerted,
  • They locate you in real time,
  • Speak, if you can — they hear everything live,
  • Everything is recorded and can be used as evidence,
  • Call emergency services at the same time.
You choose who to alert yourself.

In App-Elles, you can only alert people you have chosen. These are your trusted contacts. Users must invite each other and agree to connect. Only the person who wants to be protected can send an invitation to a protector. No one else can do it on their behalf. Each person can have a maximum of 3 protectors and 3 protected users. This is what we call a trust network.

An IP protocol more effective than a call or SMS

Help your loved ones in distress

You receive an SOS:
  • Connect to the situation with one tap,
  • See the address and follow the position,
  • Hear voices and surrounding sounds,
  • Communicate live using Walkie-Talkie,
  • Call emergency services at the same time.
You only receive alerts if you have accepted to be a protector.

You can only receive an alert if someone has invited you to be their protector and you have accepted. When that person triggers an alert, you immediately receive a notification with a 15-second alarm sound on your phone. Tapping the notification opens a screen that lets you react quickly and effectively to help them.

Your personal data stays confidential

No tracking, no listening, no recording without the user's knowledge: your data is only sent when you deliberately trigger an alert. App-Elles is GDPR-compliant and uses secure communication protocols and encrypted data to protect your information.
